So Microsoft is considering the robotics game. Right on, more power to it. But you have to admit, the very idea of a Blue Screen event or, worse yet, a zombie event, poses a less than rosy picture here.

Jokes aside, I have to wonder what level of security Microsoft can bring to the robotics world. I certainly do not question the overall value of user-friendliness that can be offered by Microsoft’s touch; it does not exactly have a stellar record in preventive security measures, though. But what the hey, perhaps we can find enough value in the cool features that Microsoft is bringing to the table here: 3D simulations, common development platform, and overall name recognition.

I believe that Microsoft has traditionally done very well in most software markets in which it participates. With any luck, it’ll take the wealth of information that it has learned from working within the OS market and put it to use in its entrance into the robotics realm.
