Yahoo and Linksys Offer Dual-Mode Cordless Phone

Posted by on Nov 9, 2006 | 4 Comments

You have to admit, this could have turned out to be some pretty fascinating stuff. Imagine more options made available from the dual-mode cordless phone market. I mean, up until recently, it has been rather limiting for the consumer. Yes, this could have been great…

Unfortunately, this involves Yahoo Messenger. You know, the application that chooses to install any darned thing it pleases REGARDLESS of the opt out options you choose during a custom installation. While the Yahoo portal is a great resource that I enjoy, their messenger is  not allowed on any of my family’s PCs based on their installation results.

In the end, it’s too bad. I was pretty excited and would have likley watched this closer had  Linksys opted to work with Skype or Google. But Yahoo? Thanks, but I will pass I think.

Though, I agree with some of your points. You seem to be writing this with your needs in mind. Isn’t writing about things, such as this, supposed to be a neutral kind of thing? I was thinking mainly to tell people what’s what, rather than what you prefer. Just my opinion though. =

No. I am an Apple fanboy, and bought an MSI Wind over an iPad

Actually you may find there are people who would like a bigger iPhone! I am getting on in age and it is difficult to read the iphone. So I am one of those who would love the iPad tto also be a phone!

I had a net book before I bought the iPad. I can not tell you how disappointedI was in it. I bought a Toshiba with XP. I did not want the handicapped Win 7 so I got the one with XP. My main machines are all Macs. I do have an HP with Win 7, but I am not happy with 7 or Vista. XP is a little harder to find find things for, but I would rather use it than other Windows offerings. I use my iPad for many things. It is more convenient than a netbook or laptop for many things. You have to know when to put it down and pick up a laptop. It will not not replace my MacBook, but is a lot easier to carry than the netbook. In the same bag I carried the netbook I now carry the iPad, a Nook, a digital camera, charger and assorted cables. That goes every where I go. Keep your net books and send me your iPads.
