Things have been pretty wonky lately as I have been knee deep in a project that means dealing with the wonders and frustrations of servers running WordPress. The thing with WP is that it’s so easy to screw up.
I myself would have dealt with this a whole lot more, had it not been for Mitch coming to the rescue. While he made it clear that he is merely a web hosting guru and not a Web Dev, I would like to go on record right now as saying that he has pulled my WP using butt out of the fire at least 4-6 times now. Even when I don’t remember what I goofed up, he was able to restore things to a working order.
He has a been a huge lifesaver on a project that I have been working on and with any luck, will continue to be there when boneheads such as myself are in need of a little serious assistance.
Actually, perhaps this is something that he could also do for others as a business? Not so much a tech support type of thing, rather a guy who comes along and helps out “ding-dongs” such as myself when they find themselves in a pinch. I really don’t think that at this point his schedule would permit such a thing, but I do beleive that it presents an interesting idea if nothing else…

I’ve found that WP is a bit like that old 1970’s TV you might own: When it gets fuzzy, just bang on it a few times and it goes back to normal. WP has so much bubble gum and bandaids holding it all together, that it’s actually pretty resilient.

Thanks for the kind words Matt. :) WordPress is just one of those fun side things that I like to tinker with. One of the best ways I can recommend to learn more about WordPress is to break it a few times and then stress yourself out by trying to find a fix. That is pretty much where all my experience comes from - from learning from my own mistakes.

I love using Wordpress and clients always seem to want it as well.
Since it’s a wanted item by clients, I’ve actually have become a master on templating and fixing wordpress problems as well.

WordPress is something I love to work on. Like anything in the real world , it is not a perfect solution for all your problems, but the kind of flexibility WordPress offers is amazing. The possiblities are next to endless with WordPress with a dazzling array of plugins.
