Lately I have been reading article after article on how Mac or Linux is going to beat out Windows Vista. And to be honest, I can almost understand how those who are out of touch with reality might see this as the case. But today, we are going to take a moment for a little bit of a reality check. Check it out…

Once and for all, Vista’s biggest threat will be from within - Windows XP. I have come to this conclusion based on a whole lot of research both virtually as well as based on polling some locals here in Northern Washington.

The one thing every person that I have spoken to had in common was the belief that Vista had no advantages over their current installation of XP. This is not to say whether or not this is in fact true, that would be something that each of you will have to decide for yourselves. But for a very large majority, there is really no question. Any new OS being “sold” to the public at large must be able to demonstrate a clear advantage to those they are targeting.

Thus far, I have yet to see any reason to bother. Think I am wrong, email me and share your thoughts.
