My Cingular 8125 Smartphone

  • No Related Post

As luck would have it, my Cingular 8125 Smartphone has been nothing short of a gem. And even though this little dude could stand a slightly faster CPU and perhaps even slightly better provided battery, I really have had no complaints thus far.

Taking a good phone and making it better.

The very first thing to get the boot when my phone first arrived had to be the provided battery. Seriously, a few minutes of 802.11b Internet surfing and it was screaming toward a low battery light. My solution to this was do a ton of exhaustive research for the best extended life battery money could buy. My biggest concern was to make sure that the battery that was selected would in fact work properly and not damage my brand new phone.

As for the second order of business, I needed to locate a carrying case that would not only make me look as suave as I could while carrying around such a large phone, but do so without breaking the bank. It was dismayed to discover that for the most part, all the cases were pretty much the same. Oh well, at least they are well padded!

What’s it like talking into a brick?

The one thing that I am still getting used to is talking into such a large phone. Seriously, it’s like reliving the 80’s all over again. Having said this, it’s not so bad it you use a corded or Bluetooth enabled earpiece to take away some of the radiating wonders of this phone. Even with this help, this puppy is definitely no RAZR.

Is this a phone for everyone?

Since this is hardly a real review, I will spare you from too many crazy details on all of the features this phone has to offer. After all, there are plenty of great reviews out there if you are considering a phone like this.

In the end, if you are not a Blackberry person and dig Windows Mobile, then this is a fantastic phone to consider. When I first asked Chris P. which phone he was really into, this was the model that he recommended. Boy, was he right on this one. The Cingular 8125 Smartphone rocks!
