Well it looks as if Chris is really enjoying his vacation to Alaska thanks to Holland America cruises. Being as I am from Alaska myself, I had to admit that I was somewhat envious of Chris being able to take this trip up north and away from the “Lower 48.”

When I first heard that Chris was going to be going to Alaska, one of the first things out of my mouth was for him to take a lot of pictures. With any luck, he’ll make a stop in Anchorage and hopefully take some pictures of some of my old haunts. Nothing like living vicariously through others whenever possible.

Another item that Chris mentioned in his report is that it Skype is specifically being blocked. This begs the question - do these cruise lines have IT personnel on board in case of those occasional blue screens and other notebook issues?

You have to admit that it might make for an interesting way to travel, right? Or instead, would you find your entire trip plagued with repair requests, thus taking away any free time to enjoy the cruise?
