What Is The Deal With ActiveSync Feedback
Here’s the latest feedback from my ActiveSync article.

I’ve found that, as with all the other delivery services, it makes a huge difference on the actual person doing the delivery. In some places I’ve lived, the local deliverers were superstars; other places they’ve been schmucks. Currently it’s more like disinterested rednecks who are so lazy they refuse to come up our driveway if they think they can find a way out of it. They write on the delivery “driveway too dangerous” or some such nonsense.
Some people are willing to go the extra mile, some not (not to say our driveway is a mile, it’s more like a quarter mile, straight up, both ways).

ActiveSync used to work over Wi-Fi. But since version 4.1, not anymore.
So this business tool cannot print, can’t active sync over a network, and suffers from a lot of options only being configurable on the PC (such as ActiveSync schedules). Oh, and to fix your issue, connect to ActiveSync on the PC and press schedule. Now set when it will do a send and receive!

Greetings from Allemana!
You are SOO correct – ActiveSync really sucks! Ever since 3.7 (and that was not a “good old” version for sure) and all the crap in between, I recently “upgraded” to v4.2 hoping some bugs would go – the contrary happened. It now has many more services running like rapimgr, wcescomm, and wcesmgr, but still can’t properly connect, has no WLAN support, Bluetooth is a pain, and it loses connections even by USB frequently.
Could anyone PLEASE put out a a better product, or is there one already? Of course, any solution would have to be compatible with the existing client SW, or replace both the host and the client side (WM 5 in my case) to be of any value. That seems to be difficult…
