Hawking Technologies Introduces First Hi-Gain Wi-Fi Range Extending Antenna With Dish Technology

Hawking Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of Hi-Gain Wi-Fi Antennas for Wi-Fi access points and network adapters with removable antennas, today announced the launch of the Hi-Gain 8dBi Wi-Fi Directional Dish Antenna (HAI8DD). Compliant with both 802.11b and 802.11g wireless standards, the HAI8DD increases the antenna strength of standard wireless devices (i.e. access points, workgroup bridges, network adapters) from the 2dBi industry standard to a powerful 8dBi. The use of Hawking’s patent pending Hi-Gain Dish Technology provides for a larger wireless coverage radius and higher antenna gain.

The HAI8DD, which is an expansion of Hawking Technologies’ successful Hi-Gain 24 Series Wi-Fi Antenna line, delivers a significant increase in wireless coverage by raising the gain level of standard Wi-Fi antennas and utilizing a design that provides optimal coverage for indoor situations.

“A large problem with many wireless networks is the poor coverage of standard wireless networking devices and the short operating distance of the 802.11g (54Mbps data rate) wireless standard. Hawking Technologies’ Hi-Gain Directional Dish Antenna offers a solution to this problem for the consumer, Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) and Enterprise markets using Hawking’s patent pending Hi-Gain Dish Technology.” Says Jason Owen, Chief Manager of Product Development and Marketing.

The Hawking Technologies Hi-Gain Directional Dish Antenna offers two mounting solutions: wall mounting or the standard desktop placement. The design of the antenna and output radius allows for complete coverage of a large room (if placed on a wireless access point), or connecting to access points through walls or obstructions (if connected to a wireless network adapter on a computer) . The HAI8DD is an affordable, easy-to-install, upgrade (simply unscrew the original antenna and screw in the Hawking Hi-Gain Wi-Fi Antenna) that enables users to take full advantage of their wireless networks.

The HAI8DD comes with an RP-SMA connector as well as the Hawking HACST (SMA to TNC) adapter for compatibility with all major brands of wireless devices on the market.

The Hi-Gain 8dBi Directional Dish Antenna (HAI8DD) is expected to be available immediately via the Hawking online store, retailers, direct marketers, e-commerce sites, and distribution channels at a street price of $49.
