Sticky Dell

I was offline for a couple of days due to the fact that I poured some iced tea into my brand new Dell laptop. Can you imagine telling your boss that your new Dell laptop is, uhhh… sticky and doesn’t work anymore? You really don’t want to do that! This laptop turned into a semi-working, iced tea-smelling craptop.
At this point the Dell is working again. There are several things that just made me change my mind about using the laptop as my primary machine.
- It installs, for no reason at all, “new hardware.”
- The left side of the keyboard isn’t working anymore.
- For no reason, my scroll-wheel started going crazy. This is very annoying when you’re browsing the Web.
- I got the feeling that the laptops runs very hot, but then again I don’t know if this was any different than before the encounter with the iced tea.
So, this is why I did not update my blog. You could say that there is a bright side on all of this due to the fact that I am typing this report on my good ol’ PowerBook. This something I don’t mind at all, although I started liking the Dell each day a bit more.
