Time For A Hard Drive Upgrade!

  • No Related Post

Lately I have noticed two things that I have completely out grown. The first is my pants. Yeah, I seriously need to start biking again. But the other happens to be main hard drive on one of my PCs.

The PC in question happens to be a Windows box, so the software options for moving everything over have all been for the Windows XP operating system. At this point, I have been looking seriously at PowerQuest’s Drive Image (cancel that, they appear to be a
Symantec product now??).

Really, it all comes down to the fact that I have zero interest in doing a fresh installation of Windows. I have some very touchy software that practically takes a month to install and set up properly. After taking all of this into consideration, which imaging program would you recommend?

While I am sure a number of you are going to suggest looking into Symantec products, I’m just not convinced that they will offer what I am looking for. The last time I used Norton Ghost, it was not a pleasant experience to say the least.

As a matter of fact, Acronis True Image is said to out perform Norton Ghost? OK, so why not just go with True Image then? Because I want to make sure that I explore all of my options first.

So what’s a guy to do? I am admittedly out of touch with regard to my imaging options I am afraid. And with that statement, I am open to any thoughts and suggestions that you folks might have. Thanks everyone!
