By George, I Think They’ve Got It!

These days, it seems like every time I turn around there is good news about something or another coming my way. This time, it involves Internet Explorer. The latest news is not so much about a new feature or ability for the browser. No, this time around it is the realization that they really blew it as Firefox gained major value while IE 6 offered practically nothing innovative whatsoever when compared to competing browsers.
I am the first to admit that it is unfortunate for Microsoft that it has taken this long to realize the mistake. But from the looks of IE 7 Beta, they are working hard to change everything as we know it.
The biggest change has to be the RSS abilities being offered. They did a splendid job here and hopefully we will see even more features to this regard as this will be their ‘killer app’. Their concept of IE add-ons has been met with reviews however and with any luck, they will not place much stock in the idea. Firefox has a better system in place. Besides that, Firefox has the memory issue disadvantage as well. So Microsoft is better off pushing their resources into making RSS as brainlessly easy as possible.
Why the huge focus on RSS? Simple - the pay off for both the RSS feed creator and the RSS subscriber. If you think about it, this is really pretty obvious…
