Yagi performance gain can be increased at certain frequencies by adding equal spaced, equal length Directors, but the bandwidth is more narrow and Side Lobe levels are increased.
Large Director spacing will increase the bandwidth. By varying both the spacing and Director lengths, the gain pattern and the pattern bandwidth may be more controlled. While Yagis are common in Amateur Radio, they are also used in many Wi-Fi [Wireless-Fidelity] applications.
