Metaphorically Selling

I love being in my own business. Like most things in life, it has its drawbacks – but they hardly bother me as I enjoy the bulk of the job. Two least favorite tasks: marketing the business and bookkeeping. When I contact colleagues and people I don’t know very well, it’s awkward because I don’t want to sell to them. Just want to let them know I’m available if they or anyone they know needs help.

The best tool is an email newsletter because it keeps a business in the minds of its clients and potential clients. The problem? Not everyone I know subscribes and I’m certainly not going to shove it down their throats by subscribing them without their permission.

I learned about Metaphorically Selling, a book that takes a little pain out of selling. It’s recommended reading for anyone who feels the way I do about sales.
