Gnomedex is coming, Gnomedex is coming! Yup, the one convention of the year that I make the time to attend is about to spring to life once again! Alright, perhaps it is not set to happen until this summer. Yet one should be aware that the tickets are going fast even though things are still a few months off. Last I heard, they were already 1/3 sold out.

Who can you expect to run into at this event? Well, here is one gaggle of geeks caught on film from last year. See anyone you know? Starting from the left is myself, Bob, Chris and Greg. Also Bob, myself and a few others had an opportunity to experience a night on the town with the one and only Eric Rice. I did have some video of this at one point, but that was lost in the shuffle somehow. Needless to say - good times were had by all. Both Bob and Eric had me in stitches the entire time.

Gnomedex is the kind of convention that no longer needs an introduction, much less a sales pitch. Over the past few years, it has become ‘the event’ to attend if you’re wanting to learn how to work smarter, not harder in the technology game. Is it worth it to attend? Depends on your priorities. It is for anyone who wishes to network in a dynamic environment, learn what the next big thing is (Web 2.0?) or simply has a burning desire to have their picture taken with people they consider buzzworthy. In short - if you have to ask then you must be a first timer. For everyone else, I will be seeing you this summer!
