Repair-Be-Gone!

  • No Related Post

Well today was certainly an unusual day for me. The big moment arrived where I began to phase out the last of my clients completely. Since I am busy with other endeavors in addition to a new consulting job, I had to finally put my foot down in regard to doing PC repairs. The exceptions I was making before with some people are no more and they have been referred on to other repair shops.

Does it feel weird? No, oddly enough. This is something that I have been working on for some time now. No, any real shock had to be coming from the thought of never being in a position where I was expected to repair another PC again - short of my family, of course.

Just the action of clearing off my work bench was a major change that, in some ways, felt very symbolic to me. I finally feel that I am ready to move away from the part of my life and into the next phase. As I mentioned last week, I am working hard on getting the next phase of BX Radio into full effect. Then tie that in with some consulting work that I am doing now, and you might say that my days are plenty full right now.

Ah, now the big question: Will I still be able to remain a resource from a troubleshooter’s perspective? You better believe it! After all, I remain the family tech guy.

And to those who have e-mailed me with questions, understand that when I have time, I will answer your questions then. Until that happens however, I would encourage you to check out Lockergnome’s help forums. I myself have been known to pop in there to get some thoughts from fellow Gnomies from time to time. It’s a great resource.
