I thought it might be fun to show you what some computer viruses actually look like! Yes, these are real, however you will only be looking at txt files and these files are representative of viruses from a long time ago.

OK, at this point some of you must be going stir crazy wondering why in the world I would want to be doing such a thing? I mean, it’s not like we can really learn that much from it, right? Well, I figure that showing you these ’sample’ viruses might help you to better understand how many of them work. As a matter of fact, you might just find yourself dumbfounded as to how simple some of these really are!

One thing I will warn you about is that the site where this is hosted is somewhat anti-Microsoft. To be clear, while there is much that MS has done in the past that I have considered to be foolish, the site does not necessarily reflect my own views. I personally find MS to be a mixed bag and take their work on a case by case basis. At any rate, enjoy the learning experience and don’t go creating the next big, bad BUG!
