Well, things keep, keeping on. I just heard back from my friends at NPACH. The long awaited press release that I was anxiously waiting to get a hold of has arrived, although late due to their offices being lost in NO. It is the anouncement of the “Homelessness isn’t funny” campaign, and features some familiar faces in the world of comedy. One person that is worth a major mention isWill Forte of Saturday Night Live. The press release is a PDF file, so be aware of that as you click this link to check it out.
In other news from my neck of the woods, I have discovered that Google Talk and Hot Recorder are a dynamite combination! Initially, I used the software app with Skype with mediocre results. But man, you wrap this up with a healthy dose of Google Talk and my oh my, does it sound sweet!
I had been trying to get a more traditional method to work for a couple of interviews that I have been wanting to do, but trying to use the traditional recorder method was just not cutting it. So, onto the Hot Recorder application. Worked fine, but Skype kept letting me down with huge latency problems. Finally, I was ready to pull my hair out. Here I am with a legit copy of Hot Recorder, a great app to be sure, but no reliable VoIP solution that would sqush out the delay problem!
After a few minutes of searching the Web, I discovered that Hot Recorder had a new version out - one that supported Google Talk. Well, needless to say that it works great thus far. Still have to do one actual interview before the final reviews are in, but so far I am very happy with the latest addition to the supported clients that work with the recording software. Good stuff, good stuff indeed.
