Suite101’s Web Site Not So Sweet?

At first I thought it strange that I could not find anyplace to sign up for the courses on Suite101’s Web site. Oh sure, it has a login page. Yet nowhere in sight could I find a way to enroll in its great, free programs. So like anybody in my situation, I decided to contact the people in charge there and inform them of my problem. I e-mailed them and then waited. More than a week later, nothing. That’s right, I still have not heard anything from them.
Under different circumstances, I might suspect this as being some sort of scam. However, since there is no money changing hands, I really cannot say this or otherwise express much in the way of suspicion about this Web site as a whole. But wait a minute, here. While the signup forms don’t appear to exist, the pop-up ads sure don’t seem to be in short supply! Perhaps this is merely a way to get people to come to a huge ad farm? Well, hey, if it is not, then this is the worst design for a Web site offering free schooling that I have ever seen!
Eh, maybe I am just being cranky. After all, it’s been a really long week. I am working like mad to keep my bills paid and my sanity in place. I am also knee deep in a project that, while fun to do, takes about 80% of my time from when I get up on any given morning. Well, enough of the venting for now. I had better get to the rest of the posts for today. Oh, before I forget. Thanks for the feedback on WindizUpdate. I still never had an issue with it, but it seems that some of you did. Hmm, we will just have to give it time, I suppose. Oh well, see you next week!
Let’s get digital!
