Maybe it is just me, but I think that SYS-CON.TV is just coolest thing since Wi-Fi Internet. Sort of reminds me a podcast with a touch of video. When you first visit their site, you are lucky enough to watch an interview with the creator of Java! Tell me that is not impressive? Sure, listening to an interview is interesting. However there is just something about being able to see the interviewee’s facial expressions that really adds something to the experience. Another point of interest about SYS-CON.TV is that it looks like it is getting ready to offer RSS feeds for the content being offered on its site. For some reason though, this has yet to be completed as of this writing.
Now let’s say that you are more in-tune with the idea of accessing video blogs, podcasts and other types of user created content. If this sounds like something that is more your speed, then by all means check out the Open Media Network. These guys are great! Free access to content that you want to see, but with TiVo like abilities. Setup a season pass to your favorite podcasts and video blogs, even the way they describe their own features jive perfectly with what the DVR generation might expect. To me, the one thing that really makes the Open Media Network software stand out is the fact that I am given so much control over what, when and how I handle the media I want to explore. Definitely something worth looking into.
So, whether you are interested in a video version of IT Conversations or exploring P2P in a no-brainer kind of environment, I hope the resources provided today prove to be of interest. See you on Thursday!
