Coming Soon: BSD Certification

Looking for some kind of Unix certification to slap on the resume, but only have exposure to FreeBSD? No problem. A BSD Certification Group has been formed and is looking to set up a certification process for the various BSD systems out there.

It’s a work in progress, and they’re just getting rolling, but I’d love to add something like that to my resume, especially since I’ve been administering multiple FreeBSD systems for two years now.

Dru Lavigne, author of FreeBSD Hacks, is the Chair of the group, and there’s a good interview related to the BSDCert Group and their certification plans here on ZDNet.

Again, I look forward to this materializing, and hope it will complement my recently-obtained Linux+ certification. Of course, I also hope it won’t cost an arm and a leg to take the test…
