Well, today is a pretty big day as I am going to meet with the minds behind LinuxFest Northwest later tonight. Should prove to be really exciting as the work these folks put on every year is valued and recognized worldwide by Linux fans everywhere. This year, however, I thought it would be cool to give something back. Allow the ‘behind the scenes crew’ to gain the visual recognition that I feel it deserves.

I am also thrilled to announce that my mic gear has just arrived, thus allowing me to do these interviews right! Now for those of you who have not heard, I was given the opportunity to not only record the video and audio speaking content during the LinuxFest event coming up at the end of this month, but I will also be working on a ‘behind the scenes’ piece as well. With any luck, I will have the behind the scenes footage edited and ready to be shared here very soon. Those of you interested in helping me mirror this content are encouraged to e-mail me ASAP.

In other video news, I am also working on a Gnomedex fan film. It is completely independent of Lockergnome and Gnomedex, but will most likely be seen as a definite complement to the event itself. Myself and the co-producer of this endeavor have just completed scripting for the shoot, so this is a show toward which we are making some progress. With that in mind, filming has already begun and we both feel strongly that this will be a huge hit once it is completed.

Now, before you folks start e-mailing me, asking what the plot is about; there are some things to keep in mind.

1) This is a very short movie. After editing, it will be under 5 minutes in length. The idea is to both promote the excitement that one feels going to a convention like this in addition to making those who watch it smile.

2) After a lot of thought, I decided to keep the premise a secret for the most part. There are a variety of reasons for this, but the biggest is to make it more of a surprise upon its release. I will tell you this, however. Just think ‘Rocky’… but with a geek at its core. ;o)

Update: Will not make the meeting this evening since Comcast is down all over town. Got stuck with other things instead - lucky me. I will be catching up with the LinuxFest crowd next week instead.
