Battle of the OSes

I am still debating with myself over the choice of my future OS. Should I go with Microsoft, or should I go with Apple? The battle continues between them while they both advance to new operating systems. Microsoft will be launching Longhorn (or whatever they’re calling it), and Apple will be launching the next OS X Tiger.
Longhorn is supposed to be released in 2006, while OS X Tiger looks like it will be heading off to the market in the first half of this year.
Which to switch to? I was lost when I asked myself that question. Patrick Norton has written a good article to help us out at this point.
Relations between the users of Apple and Microsoft computers have never been particularly cordial. Windows users claim they’ve won the war for the desktop: all you have to do is look at the numbers and you find most of the world using a Microsoft OS. Mac users point out a near total lack of security problems, along with a bombproof operating system that never seems to crash. (Then they sneer at the Windows masses.)
The truth is that both operating systems are powerful, especially compared to what either company offered a decade ago.

Then again, there’s always Linux…
