When Gnomies Collide!

Just got off of a Skype call with Brandon Watts and man, did we ever have a good time! We spent the better part of our conversation making plans for our upcoming Podcast: Changing Media.
We are both pretty excited about the show that we’re putting together too. As a matter of fact, just in the 15 to 20 minutes of talking we managed to cover like four different tech trends from a really interesting perspective without even breaking a sweat! Brandon and I both feel that having a show that maintains a consistent flow of content while offering the listener a chance to hear us acting a little goofy on occasion is just the fit this industry needs.
Folks, not only are we both highly motivated about providing a quality show, we are going to make you feel like you’re sitting right there with us the entire time, to boot! This is your show, folks; we are just hosting it. You can expect to hear all about the latest issues, trends and conflicts happening in our industry each and every week.
As for audience participation, there was never any question that we needed to have the ability to bring our audience into the show with us as much as possible. After some discussion, we have opted for a voicemail system that will allow callers to ask us their toughest questions without putting us in the position of having a live caller that might decide to get a little ‘too creative’ while recording the show. And, of course, we will be accepting e-mailed questions as well once we have things up and running.
OK, time to tone down the promotion machine for a second here, so let’s move on to some specifics. The show is set to be coming out here very soon; most likely the first week of February. Also, as things progress along a little bit more, we may begin to start doing some interviews. If you have a something tech-related that you feel is newsworthy and would like to have some air time, just let me know.
Now some of you may be wondering if this will be a live show. The short answer to this is no. Bandwidth is an expensive thing, folks. For the sake of quality (just the sound, we will never edit content), we feel that having a Podcast type download makes the most sense. The show will be available via an RSS feed with enclosures so that you will have the ability to enjoy it at your leisure.
Well, I have a ton of other stuff that I had better get busy with, so I’ll wrap this up. Also, just a quick FYI for the newsletter on Tuesday: I will be showing you how to install and run No-IP on a Linux box in order to make accessing a remote machine a whole lot easier. Talk to you then!
Let’s get digital!
