Ever wonder how productive you really are? How well you utilize your time during work hours? Do you ever feel like there just isn’t enough time during the day to complete all your tasks? Why not visit Microsoft Office Online and take the Personal Productivity Challenge?
The Productivity Challenge is a series of questions that takes approximately five to ten minutes to answer. There are 30 questions in the challenge that vary in type. Most ask you to rate yourself on a scale of zero to five, with zero being Never and five being Always. Some questions ask you to choose from a list of items.
Once you complete the questionnaire, you are given a percentage score and presented with several tips that you can use to improve your productivity. When I took the productivity challenge I was given a score of 70% and was rated as a Productivity Amateur (no surprise at all). Apparently I should work to regularly use acceptable time management skills and current technology to enhance my productivity. I guess getting caught up in a two-hour instant messenger conversation is not deemed proper use of my time.
In any case, the results of the challenge did give me some valuable tips that I can integrate into my work style to make better use of my time. For example, I should be asking myself throughout the day, “What is the most important use of my time right now?” It also recommended that I schedule my next day activities the afternoon before. This certainly makes sense to me and it’s something I plan to add to my routine.
I would recommend taking the Productivity Challenge. Even if you think you are a Productivity Pro, there is always room for improvement.
