A case of the Mondays

Ever find yourself feeling ‘blah’ about the middle of the week? Nothing specific being the cause, just routine taking its toll I suppose. Seems like this week has been one thing after another. The other day my brothers Playstation 2 (PS2) decided that it would not work with the network adapter for instance. Being that this sort of thing is my strong point, I decided that I would take a look.
Well, after careful study and many, many hours of research and phone calls to Sony, we decided that it must be the PS2 itself. At first, I figured that it might have been one of those older units that had the serial number reference that the Sony support site would show as having known issues with the network adapter. Oddly enough, it was not one of those units. While the age was a close enough match, this was not the apparent reason for the adapter not to work with the Internet connection. Before deciding to give this turkey over to Sony I decided that to replace the network adapter with another and then bring it to my home. Sure enough, same old story, it was a ‘no go’.
About this point, I was beginning to get pretty frustrated. I should add that my frustration paled in comparison with what my brother was feeling at this point. After all, it was his console. Now since he really had his heart set on this whole online gaming thing, I decided to allow use of my Xbox while I have his PS2 sent off for repairs at Sony.
I must admit that I was rather surprised by two things right away. One, I was able to get no real straight answer as to what the error codes meant when I pressed them about it. And two, they were gracious enough to repair it at no charge whatsoever. All I did was give my name and before I could even start in with my address, the gentleman told me that there would be no charge for the repair outside of shipping. No clue as to why this is the case, but I figured it might just be policy.
So now we wait. By brother gets to lose himself in the glory that it is the Xbox, and I get to catch up on my work. Hmm, seems like something is wrong with this picture. ;o)
Let’s get digital!
