TemplateMonster births baby

The generous people over at TemplateMonster.com have a new library offering. Using that good catch phrase of ‘collaboration’ the library proposes to provide web heads with a ’specialized Google for digital artists and web designers.’ TemplateMonster.com seems to specialize in ready made, you guessed it, templates for those who don’t want to put the effort into a bit of DIY web development.

The library itself already seems to contain a lot of content. Though, some of the articles seems moderately biased with the Top Rated Materials section of web Design Basics containing quite a lot of information about templates. The image editing seems a tad biased as well, with just a category called ‘Photoshop’ with no real acknowledgement of Paint Shop Pro being a player. (Awww, Jasc is probably very sad now.)

Better articles on the site contain information about blocking naughty downloads from naughty potential copyright infringers, how to use CSS to insert images and how to create your own little Yahoo! like icon on someone’s Favorites list. None of the content appears to be paid just yet; my assumption being a resource like this is a good way to drag people over to have a look at other paid services. The tutorials are fairly simplistic and user friendly. They draw on a large amount of content from different professional and amateur web designers.

This is mostly for web masters who know a bit html but not much more and want to learn. Go and have a look.
