Everything considered, my weekend was pretty cool. Had a chance to catch up on a few new movies and I even took some time to watch a few of my favorite TV shows. Speaking of things with channels, have you noticed Lockergnome’s sudden growth spurt lately? Chris and Bob are at it again, adding new content ideas, new channels, and even a few new contributors. They have churned out some great stuff this week and I would recommend that you check the new goodies when you have a chance.
I also have a few new happenings in the works. My book, “Dirty Little Secrets, Tips, and Tactics for Maintaining a Successful PC Repair Business,” is getting done slowly but surely. I am also preparing to debut a new comic strip just for the IT industry called Phil, the IT Guy. He and his sidekick “Tic-Tech,” the world’s first bionically-enhanced Pez Dispenser, will be making their debut hopefully sometime next week. Drawn and written by me, the comic strip will be taking a silly look at the types of situations that we deal with every day - only from a really off-the-wall point of view. Poking fun at such things as Best Buy, other fictional IT personnel, and even specific events in the IT industry such as the SCO lawsuits, you find that this comic will have a little something for everyone.
I am already looking at the possibility of churning this out into a series of Flash movies. I am not quite ready to make much of a financial investment into this yet. However, I am open to hearing proposals from any of you that would like to get yourself some national exposure by helping me with the Flash end of this. The series will run off of my blog, and will be supported by donations and advertising. Another point to note is that this will be one of the first comics where the readers can have their ideas become part of the comic! You get to help write the skits and events that Phil will go through. (Beat that, Dilbert!) I will be accepting submissions for comic content from time to time. This must sound crazy, but then look at the success Odd Todd has had with Comedy Central. They are currently working on something like 8 trial episodes. Hmm, you just never know. ;o)
Let’s get digital,
