Not To Leave The Other MacBooks Out…

Attendees of the Worldwide Developers Conference 2009 in San Francisco aren’t just looking forward to the new MacBook - there’re a lot of updates to the current versions too. Apple has packed 5,200 developers into the keynote.

Apple has chosen to make updates to the 13″ and 17″ MacBook - and anticipation for the announcements in the keynote has been major over the previous weeks in the news and in the technological world. As well as the new 15″ MacBook starting to ship today at a great starting price, the 17″ MacBook will have 2.8GHz of CPU inserted in, as well as a brand new half a TB hard drive. The ExpressCard feature will remain in the notebook, and the updated laptop will be shipping from today. Great updates that I’m sure will excite a lot of Mac fans.

Not to be left out, the 13″ MacBook will also have its share of the updates. Its name will be altered to MacBook Pro; FireWire 800 will now be included an a backlit keyboard will be included. And to top all this, the MacBook Pro will start at just $1,119. I find it incredibly in the sense that this upgraded laptop can be made available at a cheaper price than its predecessor. However, the prices can stretch to $1,499 if you’re looking for more power and a better overall computer.

Apple seems to be incredibly proud, and so it should be, that all of its laptops have now been confirmed to satisfy all requirements of the EP Gold and Energy Star v5 Standards. It is now official that Apple makes the world’s most environmentally friendly laptops, and this is a massive achievement in the market. I find it incredible how much effort the team across Apple seems to put into its development of its products.

Although the price will be increasing to $1,799, the MacBook Air will be upgrading up to 2.13GHz CPU. Apple is now claiming that as much as Microsoft is trying to correct itself over the Vista problems with Windows 7, the further complications that the operating system will create will not help Microsoft at all. It also tried to bring attention to the fact that Leopard, the best operating system from Apple as shown by its selling figures, is widely loved by everybody will Vista was shot down by burning arrows. Although I do believe that Microsoft is trying to quickly dig itself out of the hole it has created, a large amount of well renowned writers and bloggers in the press have claimed they love the new Windows 7. Leo Laporte has gone as far as to say that the RC for Windows 7 is better than the final version of Windows Vista. He has constantly voiced his love for the operating system - so is Apple being slightly unfair? Perhaps so.
