Find The Perfect Hotel Through Video - Hotel Video Reviews

A new service, called Tripr.tv, has been released for tourists worldwide to post and watch videos to see and tell what hotels are really like on the inside. A lot of websites offer pictures and reviews, but this method is believed to be more effective.
As well as helping other people, you can also earn a little bit cash, as when a booking is confirmed to be found through the site, then the film maker who recorded the media review then gets a commission. The website gives users that submit videos a 1/3 of the 7-10% on average that Tripr receives through being referred by your review.
The website is easy to use, uses Google Maps to find your way through hundreds of hotels all over the world, and each video has more information about the hotel, a rating and the average to stay their for a period of time. The website, however, is not a travel agent, and it is completely free to sign up and upload videos of your hotel reviews. Tripr simply receives a commision for being referred through the website, and you take part of this commission for your video.
HotelMarketing has described it as ‘YouTube for the hotel business’, with Sky News saying ‘Cash For Filming Your Hotel Room’. Yahoo! has said ‘Tripr.tv: Video Your Hotel Room - and Make Money!’ and The Next Web claimed ‘Tripr: film your hotel & make money’. The site has also had great reviews from many local press across the world, and has only recently became quite popular.
I personally think that this is a great idea, and with a little bit help and some more users, it could literally become one of the most popular media for sharing hotel reviews. What do you think? Is this a good idea or is the world once again going too far? Will this really be an easy way to make money or will you perhaps make the odd bucks here or there? Is it worth the hassle for a small sum or would you enjoy doing this? Let us know. Leave a comment.

Is that a typo in the second paragraph, please
“you can’t also earn a little bit cash”,
- should it be “CAN also earn”?
Apprciated!

Cool stuff, though not many videos yet. I think it will be challenging to get initial volume of videos going. On a different note yesterday I read a post by Frommers regarding another cool new tool, which already does what it says: http://www.frommers.com/blog/2008/06/theres-now-aggregator-for-finding.html
Expedia and Kayak both had much higher rates for the couple of hotels that I’ve checked. Though that site hasn’t got videos…

As an editor of a magazine and where we also do holiday and hotel reviews http://www.in2town.co.uk I feel it is very important for people to do some research before they book their hotel. It makes sense, if you are going to buy a car you check the car out and you should also do that with your hotels

These sites seem to be getting popular now. I found a new site called yakoozo who says they are the first video guide for hotels in the UK. Its new and worth a look;
