Freecom 400GB External Hard Disc Review

There many brands of external hard discs out there, but for me, none is more reliable than Freecom ones. The 400GB one I am going to review here, which is 4 times as big as my internal hard disc, is a fantastic soloution for backups and ultimate storage.

As always, and as I have expressed elsewhere on the internet before, backing up is important. If you want ot go ahead and risk loosing your files then having to pay somebody to attempt to retrive your files from your crashed hard disk when you should have backed all your precious files up, then that is fine. However, I want to back up all my precious memories, like pictures, videos, work documents and more, as well as having some additional storage so them extra huge files don’t slow down my computer.

As always, plug and play is magnificent. Just pop the power plug into the wall, and then the USB cable into the back of the hard disc as well as the computer, and your up and running. I only wish that it did not have the plug in it, as I don’t really have many plugs left, I already have about 3 adapters going, although 2 plugs were removed when I decided to be off with my DVD and VHS, but that is besides the point.

The equipment does get very hot however, although quite a few pieces of equipment do get hot. It is reasonably heavy, although there isn’t many external hard discs, in my experince anyway, which aren’t. There is a blue LED light which shines up a 400GB logo, and, of course the, power switch on the back of it.

Overall this is a fantastic piece of kit which I would reccomend to anybody, along with most pieces of technology from Freecom. Do you like Freecom equipment. What brand is your external hard discs or are you wanting to buy a one in the future. Let me know your thoughts, opinions and wants buy leaving a comment to this post.
