Dream Cheeky Roll Up Keyboard Review

For this review, I have shoved aside my regular keyboard to try and type a review of the product, with the actual product. This piece of kit from Dream Cheeky is a roll up keyboard. It is made of rubber, and is a great little keyboard, but it does have a number of downsides that I am going to explore in more detail below.

The keyboard from Dream Cheeky was bought as a Christmas present and was a presented in a tiny box. Inside I found that the keyboard was rolled up. Although I loved this idea, I wasn’t expecting it as a gift. It is virtually indestructible and I have put it to the test. I have bashed it off the desk several times, stood on it, scrumbled it up, slashed water over it, since it is waterproof, and it still refuses to stop working. It is a fantastic piece of equipment for laptop users as it is tiny when wrapped up, and is USB.  It is also plug and play.

I wouldn’t, personally, however use it as a desktop keyboard. The reasons for this include that it is at first at a bit of a fiddle to hit keys hard enough, and this was before I bashed it around, so that is not the reason. You need to hit the keys with quite a lot of force to get it to work, and this can sometimes slow down typing speed. This also requires you to use the backspace key alot which is also fidely because it is smaller and regular PC users are used to hitting a normal area instead of a dead on area of the keyboard.

I was disappointed that it did not have a number keypad although is would have added to the size, which may have defeated the purpose of the keyboard.

Overall great piece of kit but it can be a bit of a fiddle to start with. Love the waterproof idea and how it is virtually indestructible, however as I have said, this is let down slightly by how hard you need to hit the keys and the smallness of the backspace key. Also, sometimes two spaces between words can be made instead of one. B+ overall. I will be using this with my laptop in the future.
