Can I Break The Computer?

There is a simple question. It’s asked mostly by older people who are just starting to use the computer. They ask me, is there any possible way that they can break the computer fully, or partially.

The quite simple answer to this question is in most cases, no. Unless you go out, aiming to drop your computer from 200 feet in the air and it shattering on a hard concrete floor, or you aim to dunk your laptop in the bathtup, with a few sparks at least, there isn’t something that really is unrepairable or at least somewhat unrepairable.

An example of something unrepairable is a hard drive failing. Your hard drive will then just stop and not just your computers storage gone in general, if you don’t have a back up hard disk, or you don’t have it backed up somewhere, you have lost Windows/Linux and all of your files that you had saved.

When your hard drive stops you just have to buy a new hard drive and start from scratch. It’s something that has not happened to me and I hope never will.

When I was talking to an IT Tech Guy at a school he says that he went on a call to a house and a person’s hard drive had stopped working. The man had been writing a book on it for 2 years and it was all gone. He said that the man was crying infront of him. Just proof you need to be backed up.

So don’t worry, unless something happens with the hardware, chances are if you can’t fix it, someone that can, will do so for a cheap price.
