Free E-mail Providers

Why not sign up for as many free e-mail accounts as you can. Afterall there free, and some offer a large amount of storage space. There are a few very decent ones, and I would like to explore them, in what I hope to be, this short blog post.

I’m sure most of you know, but if you don’t, e-mail means electronic mail. It is to send information and files over the internet. It’s sent from somebodies inbox, through a server, over the interenet, through the other person’s server, and to their inbox.

There are quite a few free e-mail providers, but some sell your address to third party companies, who send you advertisments and spam. You don’t want this, so it’’s best to move on from one address if you are recieving alot of spam.

For instance, when I got my Yahoo! Mail account, which was the first account I ever had and I still use it today for eBay and stuff, I was recieving alot of spam and sexual spam, which I certainly did not want. I am not sure if it was a bug when I signed up or just some technical problems, but I was sick of the spam. I still get that spam today, but I am not farmiliar with anyone getting this spam in Yahoo!, and anyway, my e-mail address will already be in the databases of those senders, so I would probably be better off, if I was going to use Yahoo! again, getting a new address.

Yahoo! are now offering unlimited storage to celebrate their 10th birthday. I would need it for all the junk I recieve.

It then moved on to MSN.com’s hotmail accounts. i did not like the layout of it, so I decided to change once again. This time I found a wonderful provider called Inbox.com. It gives you 5GB storage and alot more features then I saw with any other free e-mail provider.

That is where I hold my business and personal e-mail addresses. Check it out at inbox.com.

I have here compiled some of the most popular or most useful free e-mail providers (provider may also provide paid plan):

Yahoo! Mail - www.yahoo.com
MSN Hotmail - www.msn.com
Inbox.com - www.inbox.com
Mail.com - www.mail.com

Let me know your favourite free e-mail providers. Leave a comment to this post.

Bluebottle.com - works great, actively fights spam.

I saw that on Google. I’ll check it out. Thanks, Oracle.
