Lightning Safety And The Weather Total Lightning Network
It’s sometimes one of those things we take for granted. And as we can see from this video below, despite the best efforts of those to stay clear from lightning born danger, sometimes tragedy is not easily avoided.
As you can see from the video above, the WeatherBug Total Lightning Network was used to track the lightning activity that struck in the Washington D.C. area. And despite the tragedy described in the video, it is likely that some individuals will choose to continue to think of lightning as something that can never affect them.
Now enter one boy that was struck by lightning himself and lived to tell the tale. As you can see, the young man is still keeping his sense of humor in light of an otherwise frightening event.
It should also be noted that once again, the WeatherBug Total Lightning Network was used to illustrate based on real data just what transpired as each of the lightning strikes hit. As this technology is adopted into more emergency response situations, due to its live reporting data, hopefully it can be used to save lives in the future.
What can you do?
So what can the casual WeatherBug user do to stay safe? Clearly, staying out of lightning storms is a good start. But due to some of these storms being rather fast moving and giving little warning, using something like WeatherBug Protect with Verizon is also a good place to turn to.
