Hurricane Ike – Dealing With A Lot Of Unknowns
Every year, it seems like we watch the TV with great anticipation about how hurricane season is going to create damage in areas we either have never visited or perhaps, only have seen while on vacation. Over the past few days, this year’s hurricane season became painfully real to yours truly as a family friend living in Corpus Christi, Texas had to evacuate today due to hurricane Ike making its way to their neighborhood here soon.
Imagine what it is like to be asked to leave your home, not knowing what is going to happen, what kind of damage to expect or even if you will find things as you left them upon your return. It amazes me how many of us take the weather for granted until something disastrous takes place or it just becomes relevant to us due to extreme circumstances.
It is with this, that I ask each of you to remember that there are people living both in the gulf states and in parts of Texas, who really need to be in your thoughts right now. Not so much due to loss of life potential, rather the definite loss of property that might not be replaceable. Hurricane Ike is about to change folks. So here’s to hoping that damage is minimal and everyone gets out alright. Ike is said to be a class 3 or even a 4 hurricane. This is one to watch, even if you do not live in the area.
