I knew fairly early on this weekend was going to be a hot one. But man, you are just never really ready for it until it actually hits you – 95+ degrees! This is to hot for this side of Washington State. It is stated to hit about 96 (although I can see it getting to 100+ realistically) at about 5 PM PST. I need to water the lawn at some point today as I have Truegreen coming out tomorrow do some lawn treatments for us. Our lawn is already a wasteland as it has been so dry lately that I would really like to get a good soak in before we completely ruin in the lawn. So here are my options.

As things stand now, my best shot is to water at get this – 1am PST – as we will see a ” low” of 75 degrees! While this may not be the perfect weather or time to do some watering, I can turn the sprinkler system on and leave it going for a good hour.

Despite the hassle of fighting unusually hot weather for this part of the country, things could always be worse. As you can see here, Washington State has things easy compared to other harder hit parts of the US. And after considering the floods seen throughout other parts of the country recently, I think I can deal with a little heat over the alternative…
