Canadian Dollar Reaches Parity

Well today I woke up, turned on the television, and saw that the Canadian dollar was almost at parity with the US dollar. Then just one hour later it reached the US dollar value. This has not happened since November 1976. I remember a few years ago that, for 100 dollars US, I could get almost 150 Canadian. Seems like it won’t happen again for a while.
I’m wondering what is going to happen next. Looks like the price of goods is still higher in Canada than in the US. Anyway, we’ll see what the future holds.
