First Look: The Boxer

ds Media Labs is one of the new companies to release information on upcoming projects for the iPhone and today I noticed a real winner in its library.

“The Boxer is a revolutionary game designed for players on the go. Using our proprietary game career tracking system, The Boxer will allow players to challenge one another, track their boxer’s career, track their wins, track their losses, and hold titles based on their location.”

That’s how they describe the game and, judging by the screen shot, this game is looking good. It reminds me of Wii Sports Boxing, and that’s not a bad thing. The controls are simple: tilt the screen to move your character’s POV and tap the bottom right or left to punch with either hand.

While this is the only information we have on the game, I have a few things I would like to see added. The main thing being Wi-Fi play because this game has “social gaming” written all over it. So now that we have boxing down, all we need is baseball, football, tennis (a good version), and a good golf game and we have Wii Sports on the iPhone.
