BreakClassic Review

Breakout is a classic game genre that is perfect for the iPhone, and the perfect version of the game has arrived.

BreakClassic is a free game from bootant that combines the classic game of Breakout with fresh graphics, good sound, and gameplay that is so simple its fun. If you are familiar at all with Breakout you know how the game is played, the goal is to hit the ball into every box to finish the level, simple enough. This version of the game features touch controls and you have a space underneath the paddle where you can slide your finger back and forth to move the paddle. I must say the controls are very responsive. An added twist to the game is that behind some boxes are fruit and stars, collecting them as they fall gives you bonus points.

On the presentation side of the game it looks great. The graphics are crisp and the animations are fluid to say the least. There is a nice effect that when you hit a certain color box you get a trail behind the ball of the same color, its something small that looks great and really improves the graphics. Each level looks and plays different and its hard to confuse two levels because of the games great diversity.

The sound effects are also nicely done. While there is no soundtrack in the game, you can always play your own music by the way, the small sound effects of the ball hitting the boxes and paddle is done very well.

This is one of the best free games out there and you should not hesitate to pick it up today, for free!  This game is perfect for killing a few minutes and has perfect pick up and play gameplay. There is only one downside that I can see aand that there’s no way to pause the game, if I was the developer I would take a look at how JibroBreak does this.
