The IntelliMouse demands no introduction. The original model debuted back in 1996 and became a hit from then on. Since that time, many new designs have refined the IntelliMouse line, including the Explorer 3.0 released in 2003 but later removed from the market. In response to public grumbling over the removal of the 3.0, Microsoft decided to re-release the venerated mouse, but this time with gaming as the selling point.
The IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 is a five-button mouse with a long, slender design. Its modest design is slightly ambidextrous, and if not for two side buttons on the left of the mouse, it would be equally suitable for righties and lefties. … Source: ExtremeTech
