What is a CarPC?

Now before you ask yourself why anyone would even bother with such a thing, keep in mind that this a geek project.
When we were kids we dreamed of cool cars that flew, or turned into submarines, or had fancy consoles with buttons that said “eject” and “oil slick”, a video screen to talk to “headquarters”, and of course, best of all, the car would talk back to us, giving us directions or telling us how to thwart this week’s villain. Well, outside of a few James Bond movies or Knight Rider, those fantasies just haven’t come true quite yet.
We don’t have submarine cars, well, not in quantity. There’s still that one guy with the flying car that we’ve seen on “Believe it or Not!” or other TV shows a dozen times, but it’s not in widespread use, so what are we to do? Should we resign ourselves to a fate of boring, non-intuitive car interfaces riddled with ancient technology like knobs and buttons? Or do we move forward, into a Brave New World of interactivity utilizing touch-screen LCDs and hi-fidelity sound, with instant access to thousands of our favorite songs? What if the future also held magnificent devices that navigated for us utilizing satellites far above us? What if it allowed us to instantly connect with millions of other people over the internet or allowed us to play full-motion video and could integrate with our cell phones? Wouldn’t that be a fabulous future…. Source: sysbuild.corsairmemory.com
