Hmm, a zero tension mouse, eh? Does this mean that it is in fact, going to help me relieve some stress or instead, is this simply a clever marketing ploy?

Ergonomic and odd looking are nearly synonymous terms. If it doesn’t look funny, then it probably isn’t good for you. Input devices are certainly no exception to this rule. You have your vertical keyboards, vertical mice, and even your joystick keyboards. Encountering all of these and a slew of other ergonomic peripherals out there is sort of like stepping into a cantina on another planet.
