Internet, European sales propel Systemax

It looks as if Systemax has received a bit of a boost as of late. Not just in the press mind you, but in the sales arena, too.
PORT WASHINGTON – Computer hardware manufacturer and distributor Systemax Inc. said Monday that profits rose 200 percent in its third fiscal quarter, driven primarily by strong growth in Internet sales.
The Port Washington-based company said profits jumped to $3.9 million, or 11 cents per share, up from $1.3 million, or 4 cents per share, in the prior-year. Third quarter 2004 earnings would have been higher if not for a $1 million charge caused by the restructuring of the company’s European business, the company said. [Read the rest]
