If I did not know better, I’d say that Apple is looking to get into the media center market…
Apple’s Front Row is the new “10-foot”style interface found on the third generation iMac G5 (iSight). Similar to Microsoft’s Windows Media Center Edition, it lets users experience the music, movies, photos, and video they have stored on their iMacs from the comfort of their couches or dorm beds, thanks to the included Apple Remote. But is it on par with Microsoft’s popular Media Center Edition? Not quite at least, not yet. Front Row resembles Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) 2005 in that it simplifies media playback by dividing the interface into sections (such as Music, Photos, Videos, and DVD).
