Microsoft to charge Xbox 360 hardware licensing fees

Come on guys! As if DRM was not enough already, my God. So now vendors who want to do business with you and your Xbox will have to pay fees in order to do so. Um, ya. You do not have the clout in the gaming world with anyone enough yet to start making those types of demands. But go ahead, charge those hardware licensing fees…foolish, foolish idea.

Microsoft announced that it will be charging licensing fees for third parties who want to develop hardware peripherals (controllers, keyboards, memory cards) for the Xbox 360. The company says that the Xbox 360 will have a built-in security system that will prevent the use of unauthorized products. [Read the rest]
