ATI X1800 XL, X850 Crossfire hitting etail

Hey now, no one is perfect. So ATI missed a deadline, that is fine. Well, so long as the X1800 XL and the X850 don’t blow once supply is settled down and in place, that is.

ATI missed the deadline to bring its new graphic card series into etail and retail at launch date. However, TG Daily now received the first official statement from Newegg.com that the version X1800 XL as well as the X850 Crossfire edition and a Crossfire motherboard are available for purchase.

That is the good news for people waiting for the X100 series. The bad news is that Newegg.com sells the X1800 XL for $30 above suggested retail: The card is listed for $479 - instead of the $449 pricing that was announced by ATI. However, company officials told us that there is a “substantial” amount of cards in stock. We did not get an exact number, but Newegg.com claims that it has “several hundred” units available.
