The Clicker: The 5 reasons why Blu-ray will win

Well now, it would appear that Blue-ray could be the winner of the ongoing format war in the DVD realm.

It’s been quite a few weeks for HD DVD and Blu-ray.

On Tuesday September 27th, Microsoft and Intel joined each other on the proverbial platform and announced their support for HD-DVD.

The Wintel powerhouse served up this all-but-shocking announcement with a list of technical reasons for the decision. (Apparently, they decided to table the notion of candidly saying “Come on guys – do you really expect us to back both Sony AND Java at the same time?”) [Read the rest]

It seems a no brainer, from this perspective and that of the computer
manufacturers, Blue Ray is the way to go if you want to copy lots of
data on a CD uh Blue Ray Disc, but on the other hand, if one waits on
the HD shakeout, we can have the best of both worlds, Blue Ray for
recording on computers and HD for no discs at all since all HD will be
solely digital non storage.
