Efforts to Restore Wireless Communications in Gulf Coast Area Underway

I can only imagine the hardware challenges that people are facing in trying to get communications back up in the south right now. But as I read the article below, I can get a pretty good feel for it…

Due to the devastation wrought by Hurricane Katrina, both wireline and wireless services have been rendered virtually useless. Tech companies are doing all they can to help governmental and emergency service agencies to put together any kind of communications infrastructure so that aid can be brought to those who need it the most.
