Novell’s OpenSuse project for broadening development of its Suse Linux operating system product has led to the restoration of a version of the product for PowerPC processors used in current Apple Computer machines.
Suse stopped selling its boxed product for PowerPC computers at version 7.3; the product now is at version 9.3. Suse and its acquirer, Novell, continued to sell a version of the higher-end Suse Linux Enterprise Server for Power-based IBM servers.
