Convert cassettes to MP3 files?

Bet this could prove to be a real time saver! Hey, if you have been looking to convert those tapes to MP3s, then this is a great starting point.

“Can someone help? I’m looking to find procedures & products that can help convert cassette tapes into mp3 data. would like to listen to old tapes while walking, without the bulky cassette and cd players. “The cheapest and easiest way is to connect an audio cable from the tape deck’s audio out (earphone jack, as well as RCA jack also work). Connect this to your sound cards audio in. You should be able to to record “what you hear” or line in using an audio program. Sound recorder in windows should work, although that will capture it as a .wav file, which you can easily convert to .mp3. This will not break up the tracks, it will be one long mp3 of the entire side of the tape, you would have to either break up the .wav or .mp3 file, or record a separate track for each song. Im not sure of a “great” program to do this, I know creative media player can, and im sure there are a few more, this is just a way to do it with what you already have.
